Projects
Lanzalotty
Synergy rents 5 allotment plots from Beacon Hill Leisure Gardeners and Allotment Society which is in Cleethorpes. Young people get to spend every Sunday tending to the plots, learning about growing food and improving their food security. Skills learned include the life cycle of plants, using a wide range of tools and team work. This project is currently funded by the East Coast Communities Fund and Postcode Neighbourhood Trust.

Wandering Wonders
Synergy aims to take young people out of the East Marsh of Grimsby to beautiful places they would not normally have access to. Places we visit include the Lincolnshire Wolds, Peak District, Lake District, Yorkshire Dales and Wales. By getting out of Grimsby young people report they can "get out of their heads and into their hearts". By experiencing nature, mountains and lakes they improve their mental health and wellbeing and spend less time on their phones (as usually there is not much reception!)
This project is currently funded by the Postcode Neighbourhood Trust and East Coast Communities Fund.

Sport England Mini Olympics
We've just been awarded funding from Sport England Movement Fund to provide young people currently not physically active the chance to try out a range of sports including archery, boxing, kayaking, paddleboarding, snowboarding, BMX racing, ice skating, parkour and mountain walking (well, big hills!) This project will be starting soon!

Project Room
Synergy rents a shop unit on Convamore Road in Grimsby, the heart of the East Marsh, one of the most deprived wards in the UK. Here, young people can be creative, try their hand at being entrepreneurial, have fun and just chill. A wide range of equipment is available for them to explore including 3D printers, a huge arts and crafts store room, a full sublimation print shop, podcasting set up and a PS5 for those gamers! Our Project Room is currently funded by Postcode Neighbourhood Trust, East Coast Communities Fund and the National Lottery Awards for All Fund.

Binbrook Woods
Synergy is extremely fortunate to have good connections with a Lincolnshire Farmer who allows us to use their private woodlands during the summer months so that young people can spend time in nature, learn bushcraft skills and self reliance. Our camp at Binbrook is set up to provide young people with an "off grid" experience and is easily accessible (with some effort) using our fleet of electric mountain bikes. Activities offered at the woods includes boxing, archery, bushcraft skills, knife and axe throwing, always ending the day with a few great games of hide and seek!
Our woods project is currently funded by Sport England Movement Fund and East Coast Communities Fund.

GY95 Heritage
Synergy has been asked to support our good friends GY95 CIO with their Heritage Lottery Funded project "Remembering the Wheelie Good Times". This project aims to capture the history of BMX, Skateboarding and Urban Sports over the last 30 years in North East Lincolnshire. We will be providing them with youth engagement activities and sharing our well equipped project room with them so young people can create a documentary and a photo book as well as record people's memories and stories using our podcasting equipment.
